Substance Abuse Specialist

The Maine Association of Substance Abuse Programs (MASAP), a private, nonprofit umbrella organization representing the substance abuse and addictions prevention, treatment and recovery communities in Maine, seeks a Substance Abuse Specialist.
Responsibilities include contract monitoring/oversight, technical assistance; organizing, conducting, and evaluating treatment activities; coordinating program services, reviewing grant proposals and assisting in program funding mechanisms; liaison with the Maine Alliance for Addiction Recovery recovery support services; liaison with Maine Care service providers; Medication Assisted Treatment development. Based in Augusta at the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Substance Abuse. Statewide travel is necessary.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree and/or five years of substance abuse treatment experience and/or education is required. (CADC, LADC, LCSW, or LCPC licensure will be considered.) A Master’s Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience. Recent knowledge of substance abuse treatment best practice, recovery oriented systems of care and NIATx Rapid Cycle Process Improvement Model preferred.

This is a full-time opportunity with benefits. Salary range $32,406 - $44,408
