We are excited to announce the opening of the new Portland Community Recovery Center at 468 Forest Avenue in Portland.
Please visit us to learn about the peer recovery support programs and activities we will be offering at the new Recovery Community Center.
The new Portland Recovery Community Center offers a visible haven and a home for recovery meetings and activities devoted to addiction recovery. Operated by staff and volunteers passionate about recovery, every activity is designed to help people with their daily recovery efforts. The Community Center will offer peer support to individuals who use a variety of recovery pathways: 12 Step, faith-based, medication assisted, and co-occurring mental health among others. Peer recovery support meetings and activities will be created based on interest and needs of Center users.
We are committed to strengthening the experience of community support – for everyone who enters our doorway as well as with Portland community members. We know from experience that successful recovery from alcohol and drug problems requires support from others.
Our Center welcomes all who are taking steps to recover. Call us to learn more about Center programs and volunteer opportunities!
Join us as we welcome new Program Manager, Peter Preble! Peter has a diverse background that includes many years of recovery advocacy and treatment provider experience. He is joined by Nancy Cormier as the new Coordinator of Volunteer Services. Many of you know Nancy from her years as a MAAR volunteer and as MAAR's Peer Recovery Support Specialist since April 2011.
