The Maine Alliance for
Addiction Recovery sponsored the 1st annual Maine
Walks for Recovery on September 25, 2005. Almost 100 people
in recovery and those individuals and families supporting the
recovery process joined us in the celebration at Capitol Park
in Augusta. This community walk was successful in raising
awareness that addiction recovery is alive and well in Maine!
There was great music by The
James Mee Band, speakers and door prizes to celebrate. The
unanimous feedback is that everyone had a great time, the first
annual celebration is just the beginning, and the 2006 celebration
is in the works now!.
